Although Rickety Rails Models was founded as a business in September 2000, Paul Dougherty, the owner, has been modeling for well over fifty years primarily building kit or scratch locomotives in brass. He is known for his soldering abilities and passing these to other modelers in his soldering clinics at various shows through the US. Rickety Rails Models also sells a Low Melt Soldering Kit that allows the modeler to solder white metal (pewter) to brass. Summing this brief statement is the Rickety Rails Models philosophy ~
